These are the papers presented at the NATO Advanced Study Institute held in Cascais, near Lisbon, in 2000. The papers provide an excellent overview of recent research and developments in particle physics and cosmology, with the contributors including a number of experts working in these fields.
The papers are grouped in four sections. The first section is devoted to neutrino physics with some emphasis on solar and atmospheric neutrino experiments and their analysis. Section two discusses CP violation in the neutral kaon system and B decays.
