Presses Universitaires de France has recently released a dictionary of Europe in the age of the Enlightenment ‐ Dictionnaire Européen des Lumières (Delon, 1997) ‐ which has received a number of favourable reviews. While the dictionary highlights the important features of the Scottish Enlightenment, another French university press, ELLUG (Editions Littéraires et Linguistiques de l’Université de Grenoble) has published a collection of 13 essays, Ecosse des Lumières: Le XVIIIè Siècle Autrement, on less well studied aspects.
