In keeping with its conference focus on lead-free electronics assemblies, IPC today announced Dr Iwona Turlik, a leading expert in manufacturing and new technologies, will make the keynote presentation at IPCWorks '99.
Dr Turlik, vice president and director of the Motorola Advanced Technology Center, will focus on the issues and possible effects of the movement to lead-free electronics in her presentation, Electronics and the Environment.
Dr Turlik specializes in program management and strategic accounts, packaging and interconnection technologies, and high performance ICs. Before coming to Motorola, she was the director of Advanced Packaging Technology Programs at MCNC, and was professor of electrical engineering at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
Dr Turlik received a master's degree in electrical engineering and a doctorate in technical science from the Technical University of Wroclaw, in Poland.
She has received several professional distinctions and served as a board member of the International Electronics Packaging Society and the Surface Mount Council. Currently, she is a member of the advisory board at two universities, and is also a panel member of the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
