ProFlow continues to evolve

Several new developments have been added to DEK Printing Machines' award winning ProFlow DirEKt imaging system to further enhance its specifications. These include a more efficient cassette design, a long ProFlow head for larger imaging areas, a temperature-controlled ProFlow head to assure consistency, and greater process control options within a ProFlow equipped printing machine.
The new ProFlow cassette was developed, in conjunction with DEK, by independent packaging giant Semco Products, which is the world's largest supplier of solder packaging including cartridges, tubes and syringes for solder paste. It is more robust, leaves less residual paste when empty and is easier for paste suppliers to fill with automated equipment. It requires no hardware changes to the DirEKt imaging system, making it fully interchangeable with the existing cassette design, and is also manufactured from environmentally acceptable polypropylene, which can be completely recycled.
Two new ProFlow transfer heads have also been introduced by the DirEKt imaging development team. The first is a long head which, at 500mm, covers 66 percent more area per imaging stroke than the standard unit. It is designed to image large boards and panellised assemblies. The second is a temperature-controlled head which ensures consistency despite variable ambient conditions. This seals the paste inside the ProFlow head and maintains it at a constant temperature, despite the outside air temperature.
The final enhancement is for the latest version of the 265 operating system, which incorporates direct software control of the paste pressure for ProFlow. These data can also be stored in the board file for each product type.
