NPL seek cleaning project equipment partners for new project

With the move to lead-free solders and the rise in processing temperature there may be issues with tenacious flux residues, with the extra temperature causing some fluxes to be baked on. Cleaning equipment manufacturers are already reporting equipment modifications to meet this challenge. NPL are looking for partners who would be interested in participating in the project. NPL plans to build a set of boards with a known level of residues and evaluate the cleaning efficiency using solving extraction, conductivity and surface insulation resistance measurements.
