The SMTA proudly announced its election results for the Board of Directors for the term that begins at SMTA International (September 30 - October 4, 2001). Congratulations to Julian Partridge, XeTel Corporation (Austin, TX); Joanne DeBlis, Mask Technology (Santa Ana, CA); Don Swenson, Honeywell International(Olathe, KS); and Dr Ken Gilleo, Cookson Electronics (Foxboro, MA), who were each elected to the Board of Directors for three-year terms.

Those remaining on the SMTA Board of Directors include President Rod Howell,Libra Industries; VP Communications Evelyn Baldwin, 3M Company; VP Membership Mike Buseman, Manufacturers' Services Ltd; Secretary Paul Vianco, Sandia National Labs; Treasurer David Raby, Soldering Technology International; and Planning Committee members Gary Tanel, Micro-ASI, Sammy Yi, Flextronics International, and Viswam Puligandla, Nokia Mobile Phones.
