Multimillion-euro orders from Asia and the USA lead to massive sales surge at Datacon

Datacon Semiconductor Equipment GmbH has landed the biggest individual order in the company's history: one of the world's largest manufacturers of electronic components for the telecommunications industry has ordered manufacturing equipment worth more than 20 million euros from the Austrian company. The order,which is largely destined for Asia, is to be completed by mid-2001.

On top of this come further large-scale orders from the USA for production equipment for automotive-electronics manufacturers.

In the last business year 1999, Datacon recorded a 75 percent leap in sales to 56 million euros. In the current year the company is expecting sales of 80 million euros, and by 2003 it hopes to top 150 million euros. The strong market growth is a result of the increased demand for advanced packaging solutions,above all in Asia and the USA, with around half of Datacon's sales coming from these markets in the last business year.
