GSI Lumonics Inc. has announced off-line programming and calibration software for use with its SVS series of solder paste inspection systems. The software, a customized version of GraphiCode's GC-Place, includes a dedicated module for GSI Lumonics, SVS systems and is only available from GSI Lumonics.
GC-Place for SVS reduces the time and effort required to create new inspection programs by importing existing Gerber and other data to create the program files required for inspection. As a part of this process, the software generates the paste volumes anticipated for all paste deposits and defines height reference sites to be used by the SVS equipment to make accurate height measurements.
In addition, the software reduces inspection system downtime during new board set-up by enabling off-line creation of inspection programs. The software runs on a standard PC computer operating under Microsoft Windows 98 or NT. Support is provided for GSI Lumonics' current SVS8300SPI and SVS8200SPI products, as well as for the installed base of SVS8100 systems.
